Anole Annals Article and Thank You

Anole Annals specializes in sharing new research about Anolis lizards

Hello everyone,

An article about my project recently was published on Anole Annals, a website for career herpetologists and hobbyists alike. In my post I explained my project and its significance. I also introduced my Experiment funding page to help raise support. This is a huge step for the project, as it will help me gain support, and broaden the amount of people who know about my research. Word of mouth is a huge component of funding, so I really hope you can tell your friends and anyone you think would be interested. Please check out the article to learn more about my project! I would greatly appreciate it if you could share it via Facebook and/or Twitter as well!

I would like to give a huge thank you to Dr. Losos for helping publish my post! As one of the premier evolutionary biologists, his help has meant a lot to me. He had already aided my project in multiple ways, and with him now helping me post to his website, I greatly appreciate his support.

I would also like to thank Dr. de Queiroz for his ongoing support and for generously donating his time to this project and my development as a herpetologist. I am greatly appreciative of everything that he has done for me. I consider him my role model, as a student studying herpetology.

- Victoria :)

About This Project

Green anoles (Anolis carolinensis) morphs from green to brown, and it is not known why. In this experiment, the effect of stress levels and the correlation of light levels and temperature on the frequency and duration of color change in A. carolinensis will be tested. I hypothesize that stress levels in addition to environmental conditions such as light and temperature affect color change in A. carolinensis. This research will provide insight into an unusual behavior of a common lizard.

Blast off!
