    Dear Evon, great project idea! I wonder whether you have access to the collection of samples collected by Charles Darwin, all of it at the National History Museum (NHM) in London. He collected specimen from a time yet another century earlier as you propose, and it may give you another point in time, which may allow for better extrapolation of development time series... I you like, I would love to put you in contact with a collaborator at NHM who is able to "open the doors" to make this happen. Best regards, all the best and a happy new year - David

    Thanks for the support David! We are pretty focused on Central and West Africa right now, but would certainly be honored to work on CD's collections. Doubt they'd permit it.
