Thanks again for your contribution helping fund monitoring Sri Lankan leopards. We wanted to write and keep you updated on our progress. Thanks to Experiment funders like yourself we raised $4617 dollars in total. We have now submitted applications to several conservation grants to help triple this amount in order to fully fund the project so that fieldwork can start in 2017. Our plan is to hold a training workshop for rangers and scientists on camera trap monitoring in January, we will then be ready to start fieldwork and start monitoring leopards in one site by February.

Yes, that is good news that we all manage to fund the project. It is going to be fun to see how it is progressing in the future

Thank you so much Cindy - you're an absolute star and thanks for the initial contact! Your contribution will help us to do a solid survey of these cats and lay the framework for a rigorous bi-yearly survey! I think with Sri-Lanka's shrinking forest cover this is really important and we'll keep you updated! Thank you so much again! Alex
