Thank you so much to all of you who have donated recently! I'm especially happy to see that my project is of interest to those of you who are linguists. I've always had a strong interest in linguistics as well as biology, and it's my hope that my research will help contribute to our understanding of how and why language evolved. It would be great to have more crosstalk between biologists and linguists.

I love this project!

This is just about my dream research subject. I'm currently writing my master's thesis in linguistics (just normal linguistic typology type stuff, nothing related to this), and I plan on taking (at least) a bachelor's degree in biology after that, to be more qualified to study those forms forms of non-human animal communication that are most similar to our language. This, I think is important for both understanding the evolution of our own species as well as for increasing understanding and public awareness of other species' cognition. So I wish you all the luck with your research!
