- Laura DeLucaBrilliant. Arjun, I would love to hear more about the long term goals for the project. Do hyena researchers compete with other predator research or collaborate or both?Dec 11, 20201
- Arjun DheerResearcherHi Laura! Sorry for the delay - we have some great collaborations ongoing. Of course, with limited funding, there is always some competition but I think science in general is getting more and more collaborative and hope the trend continues.Mar 18, 20210

- John BestevaarBackerThe very high priority project for humanity is how to best manage our little planet for the good of all. Turning everything into money is not the guiding paradigm i would follow.Nov 13, 20192

- Rebecca Anne SealfonBackerHi Arjun, Good luck with this project! I'm a long-time hyena lover with a background and publications in evolutionary biology. I've been following the Hyena Project for some time now and am a huge fan of their work. I backed you and promoted the project on the online hyena space I maintain: https://qr.ae/TW4HAHNov 09, 20191
- Arjun DheerResearcherRebecca -- a BIG thanks from all of us for your generous support and also for promoting the project on your own platform! By the way, the website is fantastic, had no idea about it but have bookmarked it. Love seeing hyenas getting some positive press, and especially on an important website like Quora! Thanks again and we'll keep you posted on our progress.Nov 10, 20191
- Rebecca Anne SealfonBackerOh wow, you made my day. A question for you. You shared a picture of Mantra. What makes her "super relaxed"? And do you have fun hunting stories or videos?Nov 20, 20190
- Arjun DheerResearcherSuper relaxed in the sense that she's exceptionally habituated to our research vehicles, and very confident. Because of that, she's super easy to follow around. You can check my Instagram for videos and photos if you like -- my username is ArjDheerNov 27, 20191
- Rebecca Anne SealfonBackerThanks! Love your pics and your vids. I'm @matchtoresearch on Twitter and named myself Waffles there after the Mara Project hyena featured in this article: https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/article/hyenas-climbing-social-ladder-easier-friends/ Also, I'm really enjoying the Indian naming of some of those hyenas. My husband got his Ph.D. in the philosophy of the Mahabharata.Nov 27, 20192

- Arjun DheerResearcherThanks a lot Marc! We're super excited to get this project off the ground!Nov 01, 20190
- Marcus EngströmBackerI love hyenas, and the people at Hyena project all seem like lovely people so I will happily help you guys! Also I have a question, Is there a way to tell if a hyena is pregnant or have just overeaten. good luck with the funding!Oct 30, 20192
- Arjun DheerResearcherGood question Marcus! There isn't a good way to visually distinguish pregnant from having had a good meal because they can eat 18kg of meat + bones in one go and the 1-2 cubs weigh only 1.5 kg each. It can potentially be done based on chemical analysis of urine or faeces... but that would be quite labor and cost intensive!Oct 31, 20190
- Lorena DerezaninBackerKeep up the great work! :)Oct 30, 20191
- Arjun DheerResearcherThank you Lorena!Oct 30, 20190
