- Christine LightResearcherHi everyone! I realized that I haven't posted an update in a while. Although there have been some setbacks, the project is moving forward. I will post an update soon. In the meantime, if you would like to learn more about the work we are doing, please visit our FB page, https://www.facebook.com/SulawesiChelonianConservationOct 19, 20200

- Christine LightResearcherThank you Sue! We will definitely be posting updates! We are not at the site now. We are planning to go back early next year to start our training and community outreach and to start surveying late next year during peak turtle activity.Oct 17, 20160

- Christine LightResearcherThank you for helping us reach our goal!Oct 02, 20160
- Christine LightResearcherNo, unfortunately we don't. Quantitative population studies have not been conducted for either species. Also, to the best of my knowledge, no western turtle biologist has ever encountered a Forsten's Tortoise in its natural habitat. That is why projects like this one are so important if we hope to protect these species, or any species, from extinction. The survey data and information that we collect will be the first step toward determining current population and distribution.Sep 14, 20160
- Cindy WuBackerDo we have a current estimate of how many Endangered Forsten's Tortoise and Sulawesi Forest Turtle are still around?Sep 14, 20160
