About
I am a professor at Oregon State University, and I have been studying the volcanoes of the Oregon Cascade Range for over 25 years. My research uses the techniques of geochemistry and geochronology to understand how magmas form and evolve within the Earth, and how volcanic eruptions and related processes occur. I also focus on laboratory measurements of the chemical compositions of rocks and minerals, and using this information to understand the timing of volcanic eruptions.
