We did it!

My Experiment.com campaign is now fully funded! Thanks to everyone who made it possible. I will be posting a so-called "Stretch Goal" that will help me cover some of the more mundane costs of the expedition that originally I was going to cover out of my own pocket. Nevertheless, from this point on, since the project has reached "fully funded" status, the project is a go! Thanks again for your support.

Not the right species of tarantula (and also, plastic), but close enough, right?

About This Project

Environmental parameters influence many aspects of an organism's life. However, animals that spend large portions of their lives underground remain understudied. We still don't know much about what the Amazon's iconic tarantulas get up to in the wild when no one is watching. I will monitor one of the largest tarantulas on the planet, the steely blue birdeater (Pamphobeteus antinous), and look at how temperature, humidity, and air pressure affect their movement.

Blast off!
