About This Project
This project aims to sequence the genome of Ramon Moses, the only documented individual carrying the unique combination of Y-DNA haplogroup A-PR2921 and mitochondrial DNA haplogroup L0. Haplogroup A-PR2921 represents one of the oldest branches of human genetic lineage, dating back over 700,000 years. By analyzing this genome, we seek to uncover unprecedented insights into the origins of modern humans, providing data that could reshape our understanding of early human migration and evolution.

Join The DiscussionWhat is the context of this research?
The context of this project is an extraordinary opportunity to explore one of the rarest and oldest genetic lineages known to science. As the only documented individual in the world carrying the combination of Y-DNA haplogroup A-PR2921 and mitochondrial DNA haplogroup L0, I, Ramon Moses, represent a direct link to humanity’s ancient origins. The significance of these haplogroups is profound: haplogroup A-PR2921 is one of the earliest known branches in the human genetic tree, dating back over 700,000 years, while haplogroup L0 traces back to the oldest maternal lines of early humans.
What is the significance of this project?
The significance of this project lies in its potential to advance the study of human ancestry and evolution by analyzing one of the rarest genetic lineages. As the only person documented with both Y-DNA haplogroup A-PR2921 and mitochondrial haplogroup L0, my genome provides a unique opportunity to uncover ancient human genetic history. These haplogroups trace back to some of the earliest branches of the human family tree, potentially revealing insights about human evolution and migration from over 700,000 years ago.
What are the goals of the project?
In this project, I aim to unlock new insights into the ancient origins of human ancestry by exploring the unique combination of the A-PR2921 and L0 haplogroups. With adequate funding, I will be able to perform comprehensive genome sequencing and analysis, which will contribute to a deeper understanding of how these haplogroups relate to both modern human populations and their ancient predecessors. My research will investigate the evolutionary significance of these genetic markers, potentially providing groundbreaking data for the scientific community, and helping to document humanity’s earliest lineages. The outcomes could bridge gaps in genetic knowledge, bringing us closer to understanding our collective past and the origins of human diversity.
Budget
Whole Genome Sequencing ($1,100):
- This cost covers the complete sequencing of my genome using Dante Labs. The sequencing will provide critical insights into my unique DNA, particularly focusing on the A-PR2921 and L0 haplogroups. This foundational step is necessary for further analysis and understanding the broader significance of my genetic lineage.
Genetic Consultation ($75):
- The genetic consultation is essential for translating the raw data from the genome sequencing into meaningful scientific insights. A specialist will review the findings and help contextualize the results for publication and sharing with the broader scientific community, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
Transfer Fees ($120):
- This fee covers the cost of transferring the funds raised into my account. It is a necessary operational expense to ensure that the funds are securely and efficiently moved for use in the sequencing and consultation process.

Team Bio
I’m Ramon Moses, an Army veteran with a unique connection to humanity’s ancient genetic past. As the only documented individual carrying the rare combination of Y-DNA haplogroup A-PR2921 and mitochondrial haplogroup L0, my DNA traces back over 700,000 years to some of the earliest known human ancestors. This combination provides a rare opportunity to study human origins and evolution through ancient, unchanged genetic material.
Ramon Moses
I am Ramon Moses, an Army veteran and the only documented individual in the world carrying the unique combination of Y-DNA haplogroup A-PR2921 and mitochondrial DNA haplogroup L0. My paternal lineage traces back to A-PR2921, part of the ancient haplogroup A00, representing the earliest known branches of the human family tree. My genetic markers date back over 700,000 years, offering an unprecedented glimpse into human origins. This combination makes me a living link to both our genetic "Adam" and "Eve."
Driven by the scientific significance of my DNA, I have embarked on a mission to sequence and study my genome. This project aims to explore humanity's deepest genetic roots, providing insights that could reshape our understanding of human evolution. My unique heritage, coupled with a passion for discovery, compels me to share this journey with the world, bringing to light the ancient story written in my DNA.
As a researcher, I am deeply committed to scientific outreach and hope to contribute invaluable data that can help the scientific community better understand our shared ancestry.
Additional Information
Since this DNA has remained largely unchanged over hundreds of thousands of years, it offers a unique opportunity to explore the genetic make-up of ancient humans, revealing how our ancestors passed on critical genetic information through generations. This project aims to unlock new knowledge about the migration patterns, survival strategies, and adaptations of early humans that led to the development of modern Homo sapiens.
