    It's been delayed by some setbacks but we are moving forward. The original Open Enzyme plates seem to have had some QC issues, and by the time we finally sourced a good plate it was late September. I'm posting an official update today!

    FreeGenes has not distributed DNA in quite awhile. When you go to their website and try to order they say that they are not fulfilling orders. I do not know if this is permanent or temporary. What we intend to do at BwoB with this project is move the FreeGenes collection into expression vectors and also try out production protocols for the enzymes.

    I had an email exchange with Drew Endy earlier this year and he is working to get significant sponsorship to re-open the FreeGenes program in a sustainable way. He is hoping achieve this by the end of the year.

    crowdfunding isn't super easy, but we were able to extend the deadline to get our project to its goal... However, we still need to get David etal to fix the last image of their pitch - just providing funding is not enough to be an actual paper author. (already talked to him about this more than once... =) Of course, acknowledgements are very nice, already! =) will share in fb too!
