Audio recording
Equipement: Marantz PMD-661MKII solid state digital recorder (Marantz, Japan). Directional Sennheiser ME66 microphone with K6 power module (Sennheiser electronic, Germany), sampling rate 44.1 KHz, 16-bit. Phenyx Pro Sygma 8, hand held XLR microphone (Phenyx Technology, USA)
Procedure: The directional microphone is attached to a telescopic pole and held close (10 to 20 cm) to the focal individual. Animal vocalisations are recorded to the L channel of the audio track in lossless WAV format (48 kHz sample rates). The handheld microphone is attached to the observers shoulder and records the spoken annotation of the observation to the R channel of the audio track.
