- Christopher ShermanBackerI wonder if snorkeling in the Virgin Islands is why you wanted to become a marine biologist. Preston, Woody, Sam and I have all gone diving the coral reefs in the Keys (Boy Scout Seabase) and have seen the damage that warm water and chemicals are doing. Happy to back research into how we can save the reefs. Uncle ChrisDec 21, 20160
- Katherine DziedzicResearcherHaha, that is exactly where it all started!! :) The reefs in the Keys have been devastated, it's been so heartbreaking to see them degrade so quickly.. The combination of nutrient pollution and high water temperatures have really beaten them down. It was hard to visit and see reefs this year that were once vibrant back when I started undergraduate in 2009.. This research will provide important insights for restoration programs like those in the Keys! I hope to make connections with them in the future! Well, thanks for your support! :)Dec 21, 20160
