About
I am an entomologist, evolutionary biologist and a full time Professor at Folsom Lake College. I received my BS in Evolution and Ecology and my MS, and PhD in Entomology from UC Davis. My photographs of insects have been used on the cover of Biology lab manuals in several Biology textbooks. I have authored a children's book on the California dogface butterfly through the Bohart Museum of Entomology, where I also continue to volunteer. In my time off from teaching, I work on the National Insect Collection of Belize and conduct research on beetles and trapdoor spiders in the Bond Lab on the UC Davis Campus. In 2025, I will be serving as the President of the Pacific Coast Entomological Society based at the California Academy of Sciences.
