Hi Nadia, to dissect the brains we used a dry ice on a dissecting dish in order to prevent any genetic material from degrading. I've never tried using wax perhaps you can try dissecting them frozen. We will use the flies that emerge in order to look at their mating behavior and its preference for host (native bee vs. honey bee). We will also use the flies to run infection protocols on honey bees and look at their behavior inside the observation hive :)
