More
I am a marketing professor and researcher specializing in consumer behavior, consumer well-being, and the psychological factors that influence decision-making. I earned my Ph.D. in Business Administration from Old Dominion University and have held academic positions at Florida Gulf Coast University, Qatar University, the University of South Dakota, and Indiana State University.
My research examines how personal values, beliefs, culture, and psychological processes shape consumer behavior and well-being. I have presented my work at academic conferences including the Academy of Marketing Science and the Society for Marketing Advances.
More recently, I have focused on problematic consumption and the psychological processes that may either increase vulnerability or provide protection. My current project examines the role of religion in problematic pornography use, particularly whether religion can provide a stronger sense of purpose and direction, strengthen commitment to personally meaningful values, and help people respond to difficult thoughts and emotions with less avoidance.
Through this research, I hope to contribute to a more balanced understanding of religion and well-being—one that considers religion not only in relation to moral conflict or distress, but also as a potential source of purpose, commitment, resilience, and healthier coping.
