100+ backers!

Woah, over 100 backers supporting the 'Flying Penguin' Project! To all those generous souls: Thank you so much! We already accomplished more that than ever imagined.

The seabird challenge is now in its final round and the 'Flying Penguin' project is currently second, but closing in on a joint venture of BirdLife International and the RSPB (some really big names in the ornithology world)! Thanks to the NZ Herald the project is getting some more publicity.

Hopefully the project will have the most backers on Tuesday 18:00 PT. You can help to make this happen by asking friends and family to donate 1$. Spread the word and the love for the 'Flying Penguins'!

The Flying Penguin says: "Thank you so much already!"

About This Project

The South Georgia Diving Petrel is a tiny, highly specialized, wing-propelled diver; a 'flying penguin'. The New Zealand population is nationally critical and numbers 150 individuals only. Storms are the main terrestrial threat, but offshore threats remain unknown. Complete understanding of all threats is paramount to guide successful conservation management. Thanks to generous backers, it may also be possible to assess juvenile mortality to further fine-tune conservation management.

Blast off!
