Thank you!

Hi all,

Thank you for backing our project and supporting us in exploring this exciting new research pathway. We received the funds a few weeks ago and we're planning to have a meeting to discuss project logistics and steps forward. We will likely be altering the project timeline slightly and shifting the sampling to later in the year, once we have the exact details these will be shared with all backers. One of our project leads, Andy Blunk, also recently started a new job employed by the University of DC, so we're excited to explore future collaborations based on the results of our upcoming study. Thanks again for all your support, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Best,

Erin, Andy, & Hoonie

About This Project

This project aims to democratize access to soil analysis by developing a machine-learning model to predict soil pH from photos, accessible to anyone with a smartphone. To conduct the study soil samples and images will be collected. Lab analysis data will then be used to train a machine-learning model. This will enable easy, quick, and inexpensive soil data collection, empowering anyone with a smartphone to study soil pH; especially valuable in regions lacking laboratory facilities.
