Does freezing cookie dough make the baked cookie softer?

Oh hai there, cookie lovers. Although this research was inconclusive with the cookies showing no difference between the control and the experimental groups, my interest in cookie science is still strong.

I am still on a mission to discover the perfect cookie.

To continue my research, today I launched a follow-on project. This project will study how freezing the cookie dough affects the cookie's softness. My experimental cookie dough group will be frozen for 12 hours before baking. The control group will be baked at room temperature.

If you love cookies, consider chipping in a few dollars to support this important research. I will be eternally grateful and so will your belly. Yes, cookie delivery on 🚲 and sometimes 🚙 is included.

Donations to this new project not tax-deductible because of the exchange of g🍪🍪ds. However, there are now some projects that are tax-deductible on the site. New feature alert!

Okay guise, here is the portal to cookies in your future: experiment.com/frozencookiedough

About This Project

The chocolate chip cookie recipe has never been standardized. If you've alway wondered what goes into making a chocolate chip cookie chewy, cakey, or crunchy then you're going to like this project. I plan to make 8-10 batches of cookies at three different temperatures switching out one independent variable at a time. I will start by comparing creamed butter to melted butter. For every $100 contributed to this project, I will test an additional variable. You're also invited to join me at my home and eat the cookies if you become a backer.
Blast off!
