We Did it! We Reached Our Fundraising Goal!

We are very excited to see that our project has been fully funded, as of last night! We cannot thank our backers enough for all of their generous support! This crowdfunding campaign was our very first, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience for several reasons: Not only have we raised enough money to continue carrying out our lion monitoring research, but also have the opportunity to bring attention to the issue of lion poisoning in our area, and engage with many of you who share a passion for conservation.

There are 4 days left until the winners of the Cats Challenge Grant are announced. We are currently one of the leading projects, standing in third place with 44 backers. We have 12 days left (total) until our campaign ends. So, please continue spreading the word about our efforts! We could not do this without you! Thank you once again!

About This Project

CLAWS Conservancy

Lions and people live a tenuous coexistence. When lions kill livestock, villagers retaliate with poison, which indiscriminately removes lions and other wildlife. Through Pride in Our Prides, communities have named local lions and followed their daily habits to learn their individual stories. Through satellite tracking, we also provide early-warnings via text when lions approach the village. So far, this system has successfully protected livestock and lions while halting the use of poison.
