Project update

Hi All,

I just wanted to give everyone a bit of an update with the project, as there have been some delays with my progress. The direction of my PhD changed a little, which meant I wasn't able to focus on this work over the last 12 months. I'm now writing up my thesis though, which means I can start driving things over the next few months. Stay tuned for my latest paper about chlamydial disease progression (which should be available soon) and for more updates about this habitat project as I get stuck in. In the meantime, for all the parents out there struggling with kids at home during the pandemic, here's a photo of an old lady who sympathises!

About This Project

Northern koala populations have declined rapidly in the last two decades and localised extinctions are predicted. Both habitat degradation and chlamydial disease are threats to koala conservation. Like humans and other animals, only some infected koalas develop chlamydial disease and we don't know why. We'll investigate whether habitat quality is a key factor in determining disease progression, and whether a synergistic interaction between these threats is exacerbating declines.

Blast off!
