What is prospective memory or "What did I come into the room for?"
Prospective memory is the ability to remember to remember. That is, to remember to complete an intended task. It might be in response to a time "I have a meeting at 2:00." Or it might be in response to a cue "When the oven timer goes off I have to take out the casserole." For people who have had a brain injury, prospective memory damage can lead to difficulty remember to take medications, or get to appointments, or buy food. That is why we are working hard to help improve this one function that can impact all aspects of their daily lives.
