Thank you - our stretch goal is within reach!
Thank you for your generous financial contributions crowd funders! Last weekend, we reached our $5040 target to be guaranteed community support to hire a technician this summer. That funding level will permit he/she to repeat sample talus slopes for army cutworm moths over 7 weeks, so we can estimate how moth abundance over time explains why grizzly bears forage for moths on certain talus slopes over others. Seven weeks represents the minimum length of time a technician would need to be employed this summer to collect sufficient field data.
Ten weeks is the ideal length of employment for a technician, as this represents the period we know moths will occupy talus slopes in Glacier National Park. I've established a stretch goal for the remaining days of the campaign to raise up to an additional $1800 for a campaign total of $6840. Every $600 raised beyond $5040 will allow us to increase the length of employment for the summer technician by one week, up to a maximum of 10 weeks. I'm happy to report we're ~halfway to our stretch goal at $6000! What's great is every dollar this campaign raises from here on will be automatically distributed. Can you help us extend the technician's employment by a week, day, or hour? Every dollar makes a difference!
