Project Summary Report - I promise it's worth the 3-minute read! :)

Friends and backers,

As we approach the end of our timeline for this project, I’ve prepared this comprehensive project summary report for you.

We acknowledge that there is scope for making some of the points in this summary report more evidence-based; the next step of our process will be to provide a more concise data analytics report. We hope you appreciate that we want to strike the balance of communicating findings as they come in and not waiting until everything has been analyzed – this is a problem in how science is done that we are working to improve upon.

We hope this comprehensive summary gives you a real sense of the project's scope, ambition, challenge, and potential.

Thank you so much for donating via Experiment.com and allowing us to kick off this exciting project. We look forward to your continued support!

About This Project

In a first for the island, a locally-led initiative will survey Montserrat's marine environment, to identify the presence/diversity of megafauna. While some monitoring of Montserrat's marine biodiversity has been carried out via fisheries landing surveys, information is limited, due to a lack of affordable tools and locally based scientific expertise. Using low-cost tools and cutting-edge analysis we aim to gather baseline data cost-effectively to inform ocean management.

Blast off!
