I think this is great I can't wait to see what you learn! I just don't understand why some people are so violent toward "the other"....

Thanks Matthew! I too am on the edge of my seat to find out what we learn :) I think one of the questions that really sticks out for me occurs in the instances where people so quickly turn to violence due to some seemingly innocuous behaviour or quality presented by another. We shall see - thank you for your support (and donation!)

Maybe I've missed this somewhere, but I'm really curious how you're going to recruit your study participants. Do they have to identify themselves as having homo/bi/transphobic thoughts or actions?

Good question. No - they don't. We're going to do a general pre-screening questionnaire. We'll then score the measures related to homonegativity and invite a random sample of participants representing those across the spectrum of attitudes - i.e. approximately 40 participants who are high in homonegativity, 40 who are around the mid-point of the scale and 40 who are low in homonegativity (or, who have positive attitudes). The pre-screening will include a variety of different attitudinal measures and will be framed as an attitudes and opinions survey.

Good Response--It sounds like a logical and unbiased approach.
