About This Project
Dr. John E. Sarno has successfully treated over 10,000 patients for chronic low back pain by just speaking to the patients. His book detailing the experience has sold over 150,000 copies. Sarno's core hypothesis is chronic back pain without clear organic etiology, such as tumors, infections or fractures is a psychosomatic etiology.
This study will support the first double-blind clinical trial to test Sarno's hypothesis and share the results openly with the public.

Budget
We've selected a medical doctor at a top tier medical hospital to execute a prospective, parallel arm, randomized trial with two arms: usual care and interventional arm consisting of Mind Body Syndrome Therapy. The medical doctor has over a decade of experience running clinical trials and has been vetted by Richard, Cindy, and a scientific advisory board.
Project Timeline
This clinical trial is expected to begin in September 4, 2017 and last 3 years. We will post updates annually. When the project is finished the research process including protocols and data sets will be made openly available to the backers.
