Tamecia Jones is an Assistant Professor in STEM Education Department at NC State University. Originally trained as a biomedical engineer at Johns Hopkins University, she developed a love of educating youth about engineering through NSBE. She is also a graduate of Stanford's Learning, Design, and Technology program, where she interned at the Tech Museum (now The Tech Interactice) developing programs, summer camp curricula, and informal educator training materials. She taught middle school math and science in Boston, and developed informal STEM programs and curricula for sports facilities, high school TRIO programs, and churches before obtaining a Phd in Engineering Education at Purdue University. Her research interests include K12 engineering education, unobtrusive assessment, innovative software development for equitable research, informal education, and cognition.
