Mohamad Nazem-Zadeh is a medical research scientist working on diagnostic neuroimaging and brain mapping in clinics. He works on development of neuroimaging biomarkers and AI systems for planning and assessment of treatment for cancer and epilepsy, and imaging-based diagnosis for a range of other neurological and neurodegenerative diseases as well as mental disorders.
He worked at functional neuroimaging lab, Department of Radiation Oncology, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, and both radiology and neurology departments, Henry Ford Health system, Detroit, MI, USA, performing diagnostic neuroimaging including structural, functional (resting-state, tasked), diffusion, MR spectroscopy, and perfusion MRI. Currently, he works in the Departments of Neuroscience and Computer science, at Monash University.
