Dr. Schilt-Solberg studies how adverse social contexts, including adverse childhood experiences, minority stress, and bereavement, shape substance use in young adults. His current work focuses on young adults bereaved by overdose, where he is co-designing and testing a grief-responsive mobile health intervention that delivers real-time support before substance use escalates. His ultimate goal is to reduce substance use among young adults.
