I am a physicist with a specialization in membrane biophysics. My training was focused on understanding the mechanical and electrical properties of membranes and their impact on protein function using biomimetic model membrane systems such as giant unilamellar vesicles.
My lab applies biophysical concepts & techniques to study and manipulate non-model unicellular organisms for Bioengineering applications. In particular I am interested in understanding how we can engineer endosymbionts to benefit their host cell.
