I've been fascinated by the transitions of adolescence. I had the privilege of living through the heady '60s and then I got to study how those who came after me navigated those tricky waters. I was a professor for 35 years and focused on the effects of the media on adolescents' health, including sexual behavior, cigarette use, violence and mental well-being.
