Jose Cabello Cabalin

I am the Senior Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at Island Conservation, where I work to restore island ecosystems and protect biodiversity in some of the world’s most unique and fragile environments.

My role focuses on turning conservation ideas into real impact, building partnerships, supporting field teams, and helping design solutions that work in complex, remote settings. Over the years, I’ve worked across government, NGOs, and research, with a strong focus on invasive species management and ecosystem restoration.

I am deeply motivated by connecting science, people, and conservation to create lasting change, and by supporting initiatives that generate practical solutions to protect species and ecosystems at risk.
