I am Hana-May (she/hers) and I am a Palestinian-American, a queer woman, and a PhD candidate in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Iowa. I am passionate about research and taking an intersectional approach while building my diversity, equity, and inclusion knowledge and awareness. My research focuses on understanding how emotion regulation contributes to risk and resilience in youth and young adults, particularly in historically excluded populations, such as LGBTQ+ individuals. I have worked with LGBTQ+ children, teens, and their families throughout my graduate clinical training and am excited to begin my dissertation work bridging my clinical and research interests.
