Dr. Nolan is a highly trained Gerontologist, Certified Grief Recovery Specialist®, public health professional, and older adult advocate who has worked in the fields of Prevention Science, Thanatology, Health Education and Health Promotion for several organizations. Currently, Dr. Nolan teaches for three universities and conducts research in the College of Public Health at Kent State University. Dr. Nolan's current research focuses on grief, grief recovery, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Gerontology, and end-of-life services. Professionally, Dr. Nolan aims to promote the salience of grief and bereavement into the public health discourse, as well as educate and train on the death-associated needs of a dynamic aging population. It is her sincere wish to foster acceptance within the health and public sectors by drawing attention to the needs and sensitivities of underserved communities, while improving socially related health issues.
