Bobuchi Ken-Opurum who is a credentialed Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) for Sustainable Infrastructure and LEED Green Associate, is a PhD Candidate in the Architecture-Engineering-Construction Management (AECM) at Carnegie Mellon University. She holds a B.S in Construction Engineering from Purdue University, Indianapolis and a M.S in Sustainability Management from Columbia University. She has professional PM experience in commercial and residential construction, and sustainability management of real estate portfolio.
She is also a 2020 EDF Climate Corps Fellow and PJ Dick Scholar. She was awarded the Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps Business Case Award this past October, for the significant contribution of her summer fellowship research with the NYC Mayor’s Office of Resiliency. Her interests lie in identifying ways to increase occupants and contractors input in the design-operation phases of construction, and how that can maximize sustainability and resiliency of construction projects. Her Ph.D. research focuses on climate resilience, sustainability, multi-criteria decision making, housing, and technology. Specifically, she investigates the resilience of urban dwellers in the global south through a people centered approach. As a Research Assistant, she has been involved in Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ), construction technology, and construction decision management research. Bobuchi has published 1 journal and 3 conference papers, and a second journal paper on the way.
