About
Founder of Crustacean Plantation of the Florida Keys. We are bringing awareness of the native Hermit Crabs that call the Keys their home. Due to the tourist nature of the Keys many shells left behind by Welks, Tuilip, and Florida Horse Conchs are taken home as souvenirs from vacation, leaving wild hermit crabs to fight over what is left or move into trash for homes. Hermit Crabs can live up to 40yrs old if given proper care. Stunted by the ability to grow will drastically reduce their population.
I am not a scientist, only someone who has grown to love our little backyard buddies. I enjoy sharing their stories and antics as we learn to live symbiotically with our fellow Crustaceans.
