Ph.D. Candidate
More
Atsu Kludze is a Ph.D. candidate in Yale University's Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department. He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University. His research focuses on applying nanoscale thin-film coatings to enhance the efficiency and stability of photocatalysts for light-driven chemical synthesis. Currently, he is investigating the photocatalytic dehydrogenation of benzyl alcohol, which produces benzaldehyde, an important chemical precursor for a range of fine and commodity products. His experimental work involves surface characterization techniques to better understand the chemical interactions at the photocatalyst surface that can improve product selectivity and conversion. Ultimately, his research aims to impact chemical manufacturing by facilitating the development of greener, commercially viable photocatalytic organic synthesis. Atsu is an NSF Graduate Research Fellow and GEM Associate Fellow. Atsu published in journals of Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences and iScience from Cell Press.
