Alena Khmelinskaia is a tenure-track Professor from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München in Germany. She worked as a researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry and obtained her doctorate in physics at LMU, before moving to the University of Washington in Seattle as a postdoctoral fellow. After building her own research group at the University of Bonn, she moved to LMU as a Professor of Biophysical Chemistry, where her group focuses on the de novo computational design of self-assembling protein materials to interface with biological systems, with emphasis on their dynamic and responsive properties.
