Wendy completed an MSc (Nutritional Toxicology) a PhD program (Biomedical Toxicology) at the University of Guelph with specialization in medicinal herbs and nutraceuticals for horses. Prior to her graduate work, Wendy worked as a researcher at the Equine Research Centre (Guelph Ontario Canada), and later formed and ran the Nutraceutical Alliance Inc. Over the past 20 years Wendy has accumulated over 20 peer-reviewed research papers, abstracts and book chapters on veterinary natural supplements. She has delivered instructional seminars and research presentations on clinical equine nutrition and equine physiology in the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, China, Ireland, Australia, the Netherlands, Italy, Central Africa, USA and Canada. After completing her PhD, Wendy spent two years as a scientist at a multinational research and development consulting firm in Mississauga Ontario, with a specialization in natural veterinary drug development. She left the firm in Oct 2008 for an NSERC-funded post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of Guelph in clinical nutrition for livestock. Since 2016, Wendy has been employed as Assistant Professor of Equine Physiology in the Department of Animal Biosciences, University of Guelph.
