I was originally trained in clinical microbiology at James Cook University, which back in the mid to late 1990s, was a graduate veterinary school. This sparked my interest in infectious diseases, which has continued to this day. Now at Monash University, I'm in a laboratory that is passionate about immunotherapy and how leveraging our own immune system can combat infectious diseases and cancer. It doesn't get much better than that, addressing some of the most highly significant public health challenges facing our planet.
