I’m a fourth year biomolecular engineering and marine biology double major. In iGEM, I helped create our virtual gene cassettes and made primers for many of our PCR reactions. I have also helped manage the lab and performed overlap extension PCR to stitch our progesterone genes together. Outside of college, I volunteer at the local aquarium as a tour guide and enjoy going on hikes around the UCSC campus and the tidepools. After college, I plan on applying to the Scripps Institute of Oceanography to study marine organisms and how their unique functions can be used in medicine or biotechnology.
