My research interest is focus in how the biodiversity respond to human disturbances. In the past, I was working with herpetofaunal dynamics in tropical forests in Colombia, and I am part of the IUCN Amphibian Specialist Group since 2007.
At present, I am interested in the effect of anthropogenic noise on the natural soundscape, and biodiversity. The effect of anthropogenic noise intrusion in natural soundscape is a new research field, and a lot still remains to be known. For my master thesis, I worked with the effect of noise in anuran and bird communities in Puerto Rico (Herrera-Montes & Aide 2011) . And, now in my PhD, I am studying how anthropogenic noise affects the natural soundscape in a tropical hotspot of biodiversity.
In addition, I am mom of 3 years boy, who loves the forest, animals, and music.
