My research interests are primarily in fish ecology. I became interested in marine biology and specifcally, fish, after taking an icthyology course during my undergraduate education. I love the diversity, and adaptations that fish have, allowing them to thrive in all extremities of the globe. Currently, I am working on my masters thesis, Local Adaptation of Behavior and Metabolism of Black Surfperch (Embiotoca jacksoni) at California State University, Long Beach. I completed my bachelors degree in Biology at California State University, Northridge. While, my time in southern California has been beyond amazing, in the future I hope to travel and carry my research experience with me. I hope to do research on ecology of fish in areas where small local communities are highly reliant on marine resources. I would like it if my research was able to assist and educate these communities, so that they may protect their resources for many generations to come.
