Weather Station Data is Live!

The mooring we installed this summer at Altaussee was part of a project to measure the heat content in the lake. Another instrument (a weather station) was installed at lake level to measure atmospheric conditions. Together, the instruments on the mooring line and the weather station shown below will provide data required to close the full heat budget and quantify heat flux into and out of the lake.

Although the mooring data can only be assessed after the mooring is recovered next year, the weather station data is being constantly collected and can be viewed in near real time. You can see this near real time weather station data from Lake Altaussee here.
