Visit from NPR/WBFO 88.7

Hello! This is Ashely Web and first off we would like to say thank you for your donations and page views, we are very grateful.  We promised we would update about our christmas party so we would like to report that our christmas party was great, we had food and watched a movie and talked about what we will do next for our project.

Today, we had a visiter from NPR/WBFO talk to some of us about our project and about what they felt about the project and about what we are doing with the mapping project and about how we record stories and what the stories are about. We would like to say thank you to Eileen Buckley a senior reporter from WBFO for coming in and talking to our class and getting the students' point of view on the project.

We are now hoping to recieve more donations so we can reach our goal, but again  we are grateful for what we have so far.  Keep your eye out for another update very soon.

THANK YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY!

About This Project

Amplified by news and social media, stories of urban youth are often negative, portraying urban communities in decline. Contrary to this portrayal, youth are thriving in these communities and working through inequities and injustices that shape major cities in our country. This project sets out to support youth in the "re-storying" of their communities through public art installations and online media used to create youth-led guided tours of their urban communities.
