About This Project

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can be diagnosed through behavioral assessment by a trained clinician as early as 24 months. However, the average age of diagnosis in the United States is 4 ยฝ years.

Our past research1 suggests that ASD can be identified by evaluating metabolites in the blood of children. The Childrenโ€™s Autism Metabolome Project (CAMP) is designed to test the hypothesis that we can provide an ASD diagnosis in children as young as 18 months.
