Thank you, Thank you, Thank YOU!!!

Hi Backers,

The Animal Superpower Challenge ended yesterday. We are officially the third place of the challenge and won $250 because of that. We are currently inching towards our stretch goal and looking good~ All of these cannot be happening without your supports, we can never thank you enough for this!

Starting next week, I'll be busy doing experiments and preparing to attend conferences. Therefore, you probably won't hear from me for a while (but I promise that I'll give you updates timely as the project progress).

Before I go, I have one last request for you. In order to thank you properly in the Acknowledgement when the results of this project get published in a scientific peer-review journal, I kindly ask that you send me your official name (if it's different from your Experiment.com username) via direct message. For Taiwanese (Chinese) backers, you can also send me your Chinese name if you choose so, I'm pretty sure we can put Chinese names in the Acknowledgement too!

Sincerely,

Bill

About This Project

Many vibrant colors in nature are produced by nanostructures rather than pigments. But their application is limited by iridescence - changing hue and brightness with viewing angles. This project aims to mimic the nanostructures that tarantulas use to produce bright, non-iridescent blue colors to inspire next-generation, energy efficient, wide-angle color displays. Moreover, one day non-iridescent structural colorants may replace costly and toxic pigments and dyes.

Blast off!
