Updated Budget!!

Since we have started this project, we have had some really awesome shifts in what and how we will create the social story videos to go along with the physical activity interventions! After doing more research, we have determined that creating animated cartoons with voice overs will be more standardized and more entertaining than actual videos. Therefore, we have shifted the money expenditures in this area. Also, we will need more research assistants to collect data and to manage the data so we have included more money allocated in this area as well as investing in a laptop to input the data and update the cartoons. We also were given a 32 inch TV to use to show our cartoons from an amazing donor, but we still need an HDMI cable and our new laptop to play the cartoons on!

Thank you all for your support in this project! We are so excited about being so close to our goal and cannot wait to implement this study!

About This Project

Youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other Developmental Disabilities (DD) have a higher risk of being obese, more sedentary, and participate in less physical activity than typically developing (TD) peers. We are seeking to develop modifications to physical activity games for TD youth that are appropriate for kids with ASD. These will be in the form of social stories and videos that are simple for staff to use and for kids with ASD to understand.

Blast off!
