FAQs

I will keep an updated list of FAQs and answers here, but just about any question you might have probably has the answer in this packet, which you'll need to register anyway. Still though, don't hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions.

2016 Field Expedition Information and Registration Packet

#1: Do I have to pay in full up front?

A: No. Only a 15% deposit is required up front to sign up.

#2: What Do I Do When I Sign Up?

A: We'll get some forms to you soon. In the mean time, just send me an e-mail so that I have your e-mail address, and let me know which week(s) you're signing up for. Jason.Schein@sos.nj.gov.

#3: Just how awesome is the trip?

A: Completely, amazingly, epic-ly awesome. Seriously.

#4: What is the housing situation like?

A: No one will be sleeping in tents (unless you just want to). There are numerous cabins and different types of cabins: 2-person cabins, 20-person cabin "dorms", and just about everything in between. There's no way to know at this point which type any individual will be in, but all cabins are segregated by sex (unless you want to be with a family member, significant other, etc.). All cabins, have electricity. Check out the YBRA website and take a tour of the campus and cabins.

Thanks again to the friend. I've added a response to that question on the FAQ Lab Note. I hope this helps. https://experiment.com/u/UBMHag

About This Project

Since 2001 the New Jersey State Museum has conducted field research in the beautiful and rugged Bighorn Basin of Montana and Wyoming. The 2016 Field Expedition is inviting backers to become field assistants to help us find, collect, and document Jurassic, Cretaceous and Paleogene fossils - especially DINOSAURS! To participate each backer must contribute $1460 which includes lodging and food. 2016 expedition priorities include excavating a 66 million year old Triceratops, and a 145myo Allosaurus.
