Some Kombu Broth

We Got the Green!

A giant thank you to the 43 backers who funded the experiment, shared it widely and reached out to offer feedback.

I'm placing orders for different types of algae + testing measurement equipment currently. The plan is to launch a week-long test starting after Earth Day this weekend!

I've been testing different recipes with the algae I harvested from Sonoma. Check out the sea lettuce chips below:

Crunchy!

We almost hit all the stretch goals too! Sadly I won't be able to do a printed recipe book, but I'll work to create a digital copy to send out to all the backers.

As for those of you who were concerned about my bowel movements, don't fear! I'll be taking plenty of pictures if you truly want me to send you crapchats.

One of the key concerns was with publishing any of the results of this experiment I would need an Institutional Review Board (IRB) - an IRB is a 3rd party that reviews the ethics, safety and efficacy of experimentation. Thanks to the Experiment Foundation, I'll be assembling an IRB for the month-long test, bringing some additional advisors onboard to make sure that I'll be scientifically diligent and healthy.

Thank you again to everyone + I'm excited to be embracing my slime lord era.

About This Project

This study examines the effects of consuming only algae as a dietary source for a month. The subject, a healthy individual will be monitored with blood tests conducted regularly to assess any changes in nutrient levels and overall health. The results may show that consuming only algae may provide sufficient nutrients for the body with potential positive or negative health effects. This study may find that an all algae diet can be a sustainable option for a world with climate change.

Blast off!
