Preliminary Data

The conductivity loggers and water level loggers purchased in this study will provide continuous data from the springs in which they are placed.  The variability of this data over time will allow for the interpretation of spring connectivity and seasonality.

Loggers placed in a select few springs have been gathering data since the beginning of November, 2015.  Preliminary data from a ridge, valley, warm and cold spring are attached below.  Purchasing and deploying more loggers will provide a larger dataset, like the ones attached, and allow for a complete understanding of the inter-workings of Peter's Mountain aquifers.

About This Project

Spring water in Monroe County, WV is used extensively for both public and private supply but no one is sure how vulnerable or sustainable those water sources are. Protecting these resources requires a better understanding of water flow in the geologically and structurally-complex region. Instrumentation purchased for this study will aid in the quantification of the water available in the region and its susceptibility to contamination.
